SOPA (Stop Online Privacy Act) Update
The Green IT Company continues to investigate how SOPA will impact on many of our clients who host websites promoting freedom of speech. There are many legitimate concerns that many sites could be impacted and potentially taken off line.
SOPA was due to be discussed again in January 2012, however this has been delayed now until February 2012. SOPA has not yet been adopted but it worries many of us that it could and if it is it could kill the Internet as we know it. Some of the reasons for it are valid but many of the potential impacts are so damaging that in its current form it is just unacceptable.
